How we work
Four ways we work with organizations.
Every engagement is designed around the outcomes your organization needs, not pulled from a fixed package.
Runs at three scales · Individual leader · Executive team · Organization or system
Four areas
Start where the need is greatest.
Leadership system design
Build the infrastructure
Create the shared language, decision rhythms, feedback loops, and accountability structures your organization needs to lead and execute consistently across levels.
We design these into the way work already gets done, so leadership development becomes part of the operating system rather than another initiative layered on top.
What it may include
- Diagnostic of leadership conditions across levels
- Leadership operating rhythms and decision practices
- Cohort, group, and individual development tailored to leadership level and organizational need
- Measures tied to organizational priorities and performance
Best forOrganizations investing in leadership capability across multiple levels, or trying to embed leadership development into how the system operates.
Executive team development
Align the top table
Build an executive team that knows when to collaborate, when to challenge, where alignment is essential, and how to turn decisions into coordinated action.
We strengthen the trust, candour, clarity, and operating practices the team needs to perform effectively in its context.
What it may include
- Executive interviews and team diagnostic
- Team assessment and facilitated intensives
- Work on trust, conflict, decision-making, and shared priorities
- Clarification of roles, decision rights, and ways of working
- Team agreements and follow-through rhythms
Best forExecutive teams navigating complexity, transition, or strategic change, and teams that need stronger collective effectiveness at the top.
Executive coaching
Strengthen the leader
Strengthen the judgment, presence, and leadership effectiveness required to lead well under pressure, navigate complexity, and deliver through others.
Our coaching is anchored to organizational outcomes, informed by assessment and stakeholder feedback, and grounded in the real decisions, relationships, and pressures of senior leadership.
What it may include
- Leadership assessment and 360 feedback
- Stakeholder feedback
- Work on live leadership challenges, decisions, and relationships
- Prioritization, boundaries, delegation, and managing competing demands
- Clear development priorities and measures of progress
- Confidential, structured coaching over an agreed period
Best forCEOs, senior executives, and high-potential leaders navigating increased scope, transition, complexity, sustained pressure, or competing demands.
Speaking and facilitation
Move a room
Shift how leaders think, engage, and act on the issues that matter most.
Keynotes and facilitated sessions are designed around the audience, the context, and the outcomes you want to create, whether that is greater clarity, stronger connection, more candid dialogue, renewed energy, or alignment around a shared vision.
Topics may include
- Cultivating Connections: The Underrated Skill for Elevating Leadership
- Leading with Calm and Clarity in Times of Chaos
- Confidence, self-doubt, and leadership presence
- Trust, accountability, and courageous conversation
- Board, governance, and system retreat facilitation
Best forConferences, leadership forums, retreats, board sessions, and system-wide events where the goal is to create meaningful dialogue, alignment, or action.
Assessment
Assessment-informed, not assessment-led.
The right assessment can sharpen insight, reveal patterns that are difficult to see from inside the system, and create a more precise starting point for development.
We use validated tools selectively, based on the question the engagement needs to answer. These may include Leadership Circle Profile, Hogan, Everything DiSC, Five Behaviors, Stakeholder Centered Coaching, and LEADS in a Caring Environment.
Assessment is never the work itself. It informs where to focus, helps leaders and teams see themselves more clearly, and provides a stronger basis for measuring meaningful change over time.
Proof
What leaders say afterwards.
“Our work has surfaced key issues that were previously under the surface. The Senior Leadership Team now has a shared language to better understand how we interact, and we have built a stronger foundation of trust and open communication. There is an awareness now of what it means to operate as one team and how we can support one another.”
“Shiyen's deep listening, incisive questions and timely sharing of spot-on learning resources have enabled me to smoothly navigate a major inflection point in my career. This renewal was a vital catalyst and continues to fuel me as I drive healthcare system transformation in my region.”
“Shiyen took the time to get to know my goals, values, skills and passion. Her expert guidance helped me move ahead and take some steps I would not have otherwise. Clients, whether a large organization or an individual leader, are fortunate to work with Shiyen.”
Scoping
Clear scope. Clear outcomes. Clear expectations.
Before any engagement begins, we agree on what needs to change, how the work will be structured, how progress will be reviewed, and what each side will own.
What we clarify
- The outcomes the work is intended to move
- Who and what levels of the organization are involved
- How progress will be measured and reviewed
- What DDL will bring and what the organization must own
- Confidentiality, reporting, and decision-making expectations
How we scope
- Understand the situation. We start with what is happening, not with a predefined service.
- Diagnose what matters. We identify where the constraint sits and what is most likely to move it.
- Design the engagement. Scope, outcomes, measures, and ways of working are built around your context.
- Decide together. If this is not the right work for what you are facing, we will say so.
